RaytheonRaytheon Professional Services: Technical Services Training for Auto Dealerships

Challenge: Raytheon Professional Services (RPS), a leading training outsourcing firm, wanted to quickly deliver late-breaking technical knowledge to service technicians across the U.S. This news had to be delivered in a user-friendly, intuitive and branded platform.

Solution: RPS contracted with Altus Learning Systems to repurpose its video training programming into a streaming video format, indexed in a full-text searchable portal for easy, point-of-interest access.

Results: Technician use of the company's new vPortal exceeded expectations. In a recent four-month period, monthly usege increased three-fold to over 11,000 users, 18,000 visits and 9,000 searches. Time-critical information successfully and cost-effectively reached its target audience, with service technicians being actively engaged.

Cisco SystemsCisco Systems: Anytime, Anywhere Training and Product Knowledge Sharing

Challenge: Cisco Systems, the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, needed an easy way to capture large amounts of new product knowledge while simultaneously making this information available to the field quickly and cost-effectively. This would reduce the company's need for, and cost associated with conducting live classroom seminars around the world.

Solution: Cisco contracted with Altus to record and digitally post- produce its new product introduction events to enable thousands of engineers and product managers to access knowledge, training and key business information from any location at any time.

Results: The initial pilot program was a big success, with demand for more than a thousand hours of content per year. Consequently, Cisco contracted Altus Learning Systems to develop an on-site service center, meeting their growing demand while ensuring tight delivery deadlines. This, in turn, decreased Cisco staff involvement and cut costs significantly.

Solution: GPJ contracted with Altus Learning System to provide their knowledge sharing platform to every client. This service includes digital capture, post-production, and on-demand delivery of clients' event-oriented content.

Results: As a result of this collaboration, GPJ established a competitive advantage by providing a unique service offering and creating a much longer tail to their clients’ knowledge intensive events. Challenge: Network Appliance, a world leader in unified storage solutions for data-intensive enterprises, wanted to reduce the cost and time involved in their multi-week Annual NetApp® Global SE Conference.

Solution: Network Appliance contracted with Altus Learning Systems to capture, digitally post-produce, index and deliver their entire conference for on-demand viewing, search and retrieval.

Results: Network Appliance cut the cost of the annual conference in half while making the information readily available to partners and employees who could not attend the event—and those who did attend but needed to reference the material later on the job.

Challenge: Cisco Systems®, the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, needed to satisfy the needs of geographically-dispersed sales professionals by offering up-to-the-minute information on the company's technology, new product s, marketplace changes and competitive positioning.

Solution: Cisco leveraged Altus’ previous success with new product introductions to provide just-in-time sales-related content delivery by recording live events and conference calls, making all that informally transferred knowledge searchable down to the spoken word.

Results: Due in part to the contributions from Altus, Cisco's sales knowledge sharing system has been a big success. Cisco was honored with the 8th Annual Corporate University Xchange Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Corporate Learning based on its thorough demonstration of the system and its influence in helping the company stay true to its mission, vision and culture.
