Products: vPresenter
Altus captures expert knowledge by video recording people sharing what they know. But there is more to making this knowledge useful to others than simply recording and playing back video.People often use PowerPoint as a visual support for their presentations, and those PowerPoint slides must be synchronized with the media. The PowerPoint slides have titles and they need to extracted and used as index points to form a table of contents for easy navigation. When Altus transcribes the audio from presentations, each sentence of the text must be synchronized with the media to achieve a "closed captioned" effect.
When users search and find the exact point of interest (using vPortal below), they need to be able to jump to the exact slide or sentence in the video. When experts demonstrate software applications, without using PowerPoint, their screens must be captured to show their cursor movements—and then synchronized with a table of contents and the transcript text. And when video or audio files are played without PowerPoint or screen captures, such as for hardware demonstrations, the media need the same transcript synchronization and topical indexing. vPresenter is the rich media player that brings all of these elements together to give the user a compelling digital media experience.
